CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week.

Shaw identified the fugitive as James Lawn, 57, of Main Street, Telford. Lawn is wanted for failure to appear at Criminal Call held Sept. 3.

On Jan. 27, Officer Travis Goodman of the Sandy Township police filed a criminal complaint against Lawn. He charged Lawn with driving under the influence of alcohol, M; careless driving, S; driving on right side of roadway, S; and driving without lights to avoid identification, S.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Jan. 23, Goodman received a report about a vehicle that was allegedly missing from a local establishment. Upon arrival at the scene, Goodman made contact with the victim who believed that someone had taken his vehicle by mistake.

Goodman ran the registration of the only vehicle remaining in the parking lot, and it allegedly came back to the defendant, James Lawn. Goodman then left the scene to search for the missing vehicle.

A short time later, Goodman allegedly observed the vehicle traveling without headlights and taillights. Goodman then conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.

Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Lawn, Goodman allegedly detected signs of impairment. Lawn was transported to Penn Highlands, where he refused blood testing.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for July 17, at which time all charges were held to court. On Sept. 3, Lawn failed to appear at Criminal Call, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Lawn is described as a Caucasian male standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He has brown hair and hazel eyes.

Anyone with knowledge of Lawn’s location is asked to call Clearfield County Crime Stoppers at 800-376-4700. All calls to Crime Stoppers are confidential.
