Some employees at Chevron’s Appalachian/Michigan Strategic Business Unit (AMBU) in Smithfield in Fayette County were among the 162 Chevron employees to be laid off so far this year in Pennsylvania in an effort to restructure the company’s underperforming Marcellus and Utica shale operations.
