Shots reportedly fired at South Dakota high school, police say

Police are checking reports that shots were fired at South Dakota’s Harrisburg High School on Wednesday morning, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Todd Baldwin said.

Police were searching the building because they received a “shots fired” call, Baldwin said.

Fire trucks and ambulances were sent to the scene, he said. Information on whether anyone was injured wasn’t immediately available.

Harrisburg, a city of about 4,000 people, is just south of Sioux Falls.
