CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District netted $94,657.61 from the school content auctions at the former Clearfield Middle School and the Centre Elementary School, according to Superintendent Terry Struble.
District officials started auctioning off the contents of the former middle school on Aug. 15. They completed the auction of its second-floor contents on Aug. 22, according to previously published GANT reports.
“It was very successful,” said Struble for a previous report. He noted the auction at the former middle school attracted a large number of registered bidders from several states.
District officials completed the auction of the contents of the former Centre Elementary on Aug. 22 and had a “good crowd of bidders.” However, they were unsuccessful in attempting to auction off the school building and its property, according to previously published GANT reports.
In an interview for a previous report, Struble said that they received one bid on the school and its property. “And, it didn’t meet the district’s reserve amount on the school,” he said.
The school is located on 8.3 acres at 2075 Highview Rd., Clearfield. It has 15 classrooms with offices, a staged gymnasium, a kitchen, restrooms and an exterior modular classroom.
For a previous report, Struble said the school board will have to decide its future plans for both the former middle school and Centre Elementary buildings.
Travis Parkes served as the professional auctioneer for both school auctions.
