Fall Festival Returns to Downtown Clearfield Oct. 10

CLEARFIELD – The fifth annual Fall Festival, hosted by the Clearfield Revitalization Corp. (CRC), will be held Oct. 10 in downtown Clearfield. It will also include a Pumpkin Run/Walk 5K and a Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show.

The event will kick off with a run/walk through downtown Clearfield. Participants may register the day of the event from 7 a.m. – 8 a.m. at Market Square by the Market Street Bridge. The run/walk will start at 8:30 a.m. To pre-register, visit the CRC Web site.

After the run/walk, the Fall Festival and Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will be held from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. This “family-friendly” event will be held on East Market, Third and Locust streets and will feature “something for everyone.” Admission is free.

More than 100 talented artisans will feature their work, ranging from ceramics, fiber, wood, leather and metalwork to jewelry, glass, photography and mixed-media art pieces.

There will also be food vendors and plenty of entertainment at the Lezzer Lumber Stage and in front of the Clearfield County Courthouse.  The Car, Truck and Motorcycle Show will be held in and around the Third Street parking lot with registration being held from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

The Howl-O-Ween Pet Parade sponsored by the Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic will be held at 10 a.m. at the Express Cafe parking lot in conjunction with the CRC Fall Festival.

Owners may bring their pet in costume; owners may appear in costume, as well. Prizes will be awarded along with treats to all pets that participate. Participation is free, but all pets must be leashed and current on vaccines. No animals should be forced to wear costumes that cause any discomfort or injury.

Re.invent.ed will host workshops at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for participants to create a primitive, wooden candy corn decoration at a cost of $10 per person. There will only be a limited amount of spots available at these workshops.

Participants may pre-register for one of these two workshops by sending an RSVP to discoverclearfield@gmail.com. The workshop spots will be filled on a first-come first serve basis. All proceeds will benefit the revitalization of the Clearfield community.

Kids will be able to “Chalk-Up” Clearfield by designing their own square on the sidewalk compliments of Historica Plus Antiques and the Joseph & Elizabeth Shaw Public Library. Clearfield Fire & Safety will show off their fire trucks to kids and offer free games. There will also be lots of other games and fall activities for kids all day throughout the festival.

Kids can submit their carved pumpkin at the CRC booth for the Pumpkin Carving Contest for participants who are 3-12 years of age. Submitted pumpkins will be on display and can be voted on throughout the day sponsored by the Downtown Holiday Lighting.

At the CRC booth, staff will have Starkey’s Balloons providing free artistic balloon art for kids from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. The Clearfield Junior-Senior High School Key Club students will offer free face painting for the kids throughout the day.

Girl Scout Troop No. 21248 from Clearfield will also offer free face painting for kids by the courthouse.

Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre Inc. (CAST) will present a sneak preview of the play “Comedy of Errors” at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the performance stage located on Locust Street.

There will be free hay historic rides leaving from the courthouse from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. and moderated by the CRC Youth Council. In addition, the Clearfield County Historical Society will offer free historic walks narrated by board member, Becky Miller, throughout downtown Clearfield and will leave the courthouse at 10:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Attendees will be able to experience the Pennsylvania DUI Simulator sponsored by State Farm Agent Rob Bozovich and explore the “Daughter of Darkness” Vietnam War Truck.
