Benefit to be Held for Clinic on Oct. 10

CLEARFIELD – The Railroad Street Tavern will host a chicken barbecue dinner from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Oct. 10 with proceeds benefiting the Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic.

Tickets are being sold in advance at the Railroad Street Tavern, 305 N. Third St., Clearfield; the Hair House, 712 E. Fourth St., Clearfield; and the Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic, 1380 Shawville Hwy., Woodland.

The cost is $9 each and the dinner includes a half chicken, macaroni salad, baked beans, roll and butter. There will also be a chance auction at the event.

Donations are needed for the auction and any type of a gift item is appreciated, said organizers.  Proceeds will help needy animals in the area.

The Allegheny Spay & Neuter Clinic/Animal Welfare Council is a non-profit organization seeking to provide quality care for animals while minimizing the cost to pet owners.

The mission is to positively impact pet overpopulation and to reduce the burden to shelters that often results.

In addition to spay/neuter services, the clinic offers vaccines on a convenient walk-in basis, with no appointment fee.  These services are able to be offered in this manner in large part due to the generosity of supporters.

Many local individuals and businesses have partnered with the clinic throughout the years to raise funding for the mission.
