Betty L. Demchak, 92, of Sandy Ridge went home with her Lord surrounded by her loving family on Monday, Sept. 21, 2015.
Born June 3, 1923 in Sandy Ridge, she was the daughter of the late Vinton and Lovenia (Mills) Riggleman. She married George A. “Dave” Demchak on March 14, 1941 in Wheeling, W.Va.; he preceded her in death on May 17, 2005.
Mrs. Demchak was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Sandy Ridge, where she was very active with the children’s church. She was a homemaker and her biggest joys were her grandchildren and her church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herschel Riggleman.
Mrs. Demchak is survived by two daughters, Betty Lou Croyle of Sandy Ridge and Marthetta Garner of Richmond, Va., and a son, George V. Demchak and his wife, Joanne of Mifflintown.
She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Clayton Croyle, Danielle Thurston, David Croyle, Wade Croyle, Stephanie Garner, Loren Garner, Marthetta Garner, Kelly Garner and Sharon Walton and eight great-grandchildren.
The service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Heath Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Osceola Mills, with Jennifer C. Heikes officiating. Burial will be in the Philipsburg Cemetery in Philipsburg.
Friends will be received from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
