Anna Sawyer, 90, formerly of Thompsontown, LaJose, died Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 at Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center, Curwensville.
Born Jan. 19, 1925 in Urey, she was the daughter of George and Annie (Hook) Bakaysa She married James Sawyer, who died in 1963.
Mrs. Sawyer was a homemaker.
She is survived by her son- and daughter-in-law, James Sawyer and his wife, Michelle; her son-in-law, Martin Rydbom; her grandson, Adam Rydbom and his wife, Joni; her granddaughter, Sarah Rydbom; her grandson, Aaron Sawyer; her great-granddaughters, Ava Weld and Sarah Weld; her great-grandson, Jace Weld; and her brother, Frank Bakaysa, all of Coalport, and her sister, Susan Patrick of Mentor, Ohio
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Marie Rydbom and five brothers, Mike Bakaysa, George Bakaysa, Andy Bakaysa, John Bakaysa and Charlie Bakaysa.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Lloyd-Dimmick Funeral Home Inc., Irvona.
Panikhida service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Fr. David Lewis officiating.
A service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the St. Michael’s Orthodox Church, Irvona, with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Watts Cemetery.
