Jeff S. Buck Memorial Softball Tournament
The Clearfield County Firemen’s Softball League will help raise money for in the line of duty deaths or injuries for all first responders. All proceeds will go to Katlyn Mitchell, the fiancée of fallen firefighter, Jeff Buck.
The tournament’s entry fee is $100, and there is a 30-term limit. There will be food, drinks and a Chinese auction. The tournament will be held Sept. 11-13.

A farmer’s market will be held every Saturday through October from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m. It is held at the corner of Brady Street and Long Avenue in downtown DuBois and sponsored by the Downtown DuBois Revitalization Group.

Grand Opening
A grand opening will be held from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday at the McCracken family’s new store located at the former Keystone Flea Market, Curwensville. There will be food, games, prizes, discounts, etc.
Conservation Celebration
Curwensville Lake
The Clearfield County Conservation District (CCCD) will host its 11th annual Conservation Celebration on Saturday.
The event will be held at the Curwensville Lake and Recreation Area from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., rain or shine.
There are a variety of hands-on activities like fishing and paddling. Also, there will be live farm animals, amphibians and reptiles and birds of prey.
“Butterfly Rick” will have his butterfly display, and Morris Apiary will have honey bees and hives. There will also be games, crafts and weaving demonstrations.
All activities are free, and kids will receive free hot dogs, popcorn and smoothies. Admission to the lake will be waived that day in exchange for the donation on one non-perishable food item per person for the local food banks.
At the same time, the Friends of Curwensville Lake will host a Civil War Encampment at Curwensville Lake. It will be located down by the beach parking lot and will include a flag retirement.
Touch A Truck
DuBois Wal-Mart
A Touch A Truck event will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Sept. 12 at the Wal-Mart parking lot in DuBois. An admission fee is a boxed or canned good to help local food pantries.

Yard Sale
Luthersburg
A yard sale will be held from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Sept. 17-19 at the Brady Township Community Center, Luthersburg. The yard sale will benefit Caring and Sharing for Kids and local children who are ill. Items will be donated by the Wal-Mart Distribution Center. There will also be “like new” items donated by volunteers. Food and baked goods will also be available.
