Austin Blake, completions engineer at CONSOL Energy, gave a talk at the Refracture Optimization Results & Technology Showcase in Houston on July 30, and revealed that the seven Marcellus wells the company had refractured last year produced initial flow rates between 3 MMcf/d and 6 MMcf/d, a dramatic increase over the 1 MMcf/d the wells produced when they were initially fracked in 2009.
