LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP – Multiple fire crews were able to contain a working warehouse fire during the early morning hours Friday at Appalachian Wood Products Inc. and limit interior damage, reported the Lawrence Township Fire Company No. 5.

According to fire officials, the company was dispatched to the fire at 1:43 a.m. Upon arrival firefighters found heavy smoke and an active fire to the rear of the wood warehouse. A third alarm was subsequently requested as firefighters began an interior attack of the fire.

Firefighters located the fire in a compressor room. “Crews were able to extinguish the fire and contain the damage to a single section of the building,” stated fire officials. “All employees were accounted for and no injuries occurred while fire crews operated on scene.”

The Lawrence Township Fire Company 5 would like to thank all of the firefighters who responded from multiple fire departments in the area.
