Judith E. Saggese, 71, of Bellefonte and formerly of Philipsburg, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at Select Specialty Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a 36-year battle to Crohn’s Disease.
Born Feb. 11, 1944 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the Late Richard C. and Ann J. (Kerfoot) Kanour.
On Sept. 25, 1976 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Morrisdale, she married Gerald L. Saggese, who survives at home.
She was a member of the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Philipsburg.
She was a 1962 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School. She had been employed as the head cashier with the Riverside Market in Philipsburg until her illness forced her retirement.
Two sons, John C. Haversack of Bellefonte and Richard L. Haversack and his girlfriend, Holly Lannen of Morrisdale; a sister, Joanne K. Pastir and her husband, Stephen of Philipsburg; and several nieces and nephews, survive Mrs. Saggese.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Philipsburg, with the Rev. John Gibbons as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Philipsburg.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, Philipsburg. A vigil service will be held at 4 p.m. followed by the rosary at 7:30 p.m., both on Wednesday at the funeral home.
