Shaw: Man Accused of February Robbery

CLEARFIELD – A Bellefonte man has been accused of the February robbery of a senior citizen, according to Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr.

Shaw identified the defendant as Christopher James Handte, 26, of Bellefonte. He is currently an inmate at the Centre County Correctional Facility.

Struble: Centre Elementary Does Not Sell at Auction

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Area School District was unsuccessful in its attempt to auction off the Centre Elementary School building and property Saturday, according to Superintendent Terry Struble.

Pataky Fills Vacant Seat on Clearfield School Board

CLEARFIELD – Randy Pataky of Clearfield was appointed to fill the vacant seat on the Clearfield school board at a special meeting Monday night.

Pennsylvania State Police Make Drug Sweep in Philipsburg

PHILIPSBURG – Several people have been charged for allegedly selling, distributing or possessing heroin, bath salts, marijuana, synthetic marijuana, mushrooms and prescription pills after a drug sweep Tuesday in the Philipsburg area, according to Centre County District Attorney Stacy Parks Miller.

DUBOIS – Charges have been filed against a Luthersburg man accused of aiding in his estranged girlfriend’s suicide, according to court paperwork obtained from Magisterial District Judge Pat Ford’s office.
