George H. Bainey Jr., 61, of Philipsburg died Friday, Aug. 21, 2015 at his residence.

Born Jan. 10, 1954, he was the son of the late George Bainey Sr. and June (Sharpless) Bainey of Osceola Mills.

He married the former Wendy R. Jarrett on May 13, 1978 in Winburne. She survives at home.

Mr. Bainey was a Protestant by faith.  He enjoyed collecting cars, dirt track racing, fishing, hunting, attending and watching sporting events his children and grandchildren participated in and spending time with his family. Mr. Bainey took great pride in his children and grandchildren.

He had been employed with Piper Aircraft and Lee Industries and for Forum of Clearfield.  He was a 1971 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School.

Along with his father, Mr. Bainey was preceded in death by a daughter, Heather Marie Bainey in 2011 and his father-in-law, Donald Jarrett.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by three sons, George H. Bainey III and his wife, Susan of Osceola Mills; Jason S. Bainey and his wife, Janelle of Morrisdale and Corey A. Bainey and his wife, Tiffany of Julian.

He is survived by two sisters, Sherry Hemphill and her companion, John Vroman of Osceola Mills and Deb Mickey and her husband, Leonard of Houtzdale and three brothers, Thomas Bainey and his wife, Barbara of Philipsburg and Terry Bainey and his wife, Barbie and Jeffrey Bainey and his wife, Connie, both of Osceola Mills.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Venessa, Stephen, Landon, Brielle, Cobey, Coen, and Cazra Bainey and Bryer Renee Cutler; his mother-in-law, Lyla Jarrett of Philipsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Beezer-Heath Funeral Home, 719 E. Spruce St., Philipsburg, with the Rev. Timothy D. Richmond officiating.  Burial will be at the Umbria Cemetery in Osceola Mills.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
