The "pent-up demand" for affordable care

Since the Affordable Care Act exchanges opened in 2014, the affordability of plans for enrollees and cost to taxpayers have been fiercely debated by pundits and politicians. As of March, the net cost of Obamacare was projected at $1.207 trillion over the period of 2016 – 2025. A key factor in making the plans affordable to all Americans are the program’s government subsidies.
