Virginia L. Zbieg, 83, of DuBois died Sunday, Aug. 16, 2015 at Christ the King Manor.
Born May 17, 1932 in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Kathryn (Mehok) Gulish.
On Aug. 22, 1953 in Soldier, she married Steve L. Zbieg. He preceded her in death on April 11, 1976.
She retired after 26 years at the DuBois Regional Medical Center as a dietary supervisor.
She was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the Rosary Infant Prague Society.
She was very active in the bereavement committee and the St. Michael’s Polish Festival. She was also a member of the Christ the King Manor Auxiliary and was very well known for her nut rolls.
She is survived by three children, Marie Ellinger and her husband, Robert and Sheri Kolash and her husband, Richard, all of DuBois, and Cindy Yount and her husband, Gene of Brockway; two sisters, Shirley Jurcak of Elyria, Ohio and Patty Hiles of Parma Ohio; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and John Gulish.
Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
The rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
