Obituary Notice: Agnes McCracken

Agnes McCracken, 91, of DuBois died Sunday, Aug. 2, 2015 at her home.

Born July 11, 1924 in Maxwell, she was the daughter of the late George and Anna (Novotny) Ferchak.

She was married to Ernest D. McCracken. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2005.

She retired as a claims adjuster for Mutual American of Rhode Island Insurance Company. She was a graduate of the Henry George School of Science.

Mrs. McCracken was a member of the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, in the church choir and the historian for the 125th anniversary committee.

She was a member of the former Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians. She was a past volunteer at DuBois Hospice and the Medical Arts Building and the DuBois Historical Society.

She was cared for locally by her niece, Lynda E. Veltri and her husband, Michael of Reynoldsville.

Mrs. McCracken was preceded in death by her twin sister, Francine Ferchak and five brothers, John, Stephen, Joseph, Carl and George Ferchak Jr.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.

A rosary will be prayed at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday, which is to be followed immediately by a scriptural wake service.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.

Burial will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery.
