CLEARFIELD – On Monday Clearfield County Fair officials received notification from Little Big Town that the group must cancel its performance scheduled for Aug. 7.

Little Big Town cancelled the show due to Jimi Westbrook’s ongoing vocal cord issues. Ashley Monroe notified fair officials that she had to cancel her performance, as well.

Little Big Town issued the following statement: “ It is with deep regret that we must cancel an additional three weeks of shows in August due to doctors’ orders for Jimi to rest and recuperate his voice.

“We want to come back on the road to you guys at 110 percent and this additional time will make sure that happens! Thanks again for all of your support during this time, and for your love, patience, and excitement for us to come back! We can’t wait to see all of you.”

Fair officials, along with Triangle Talent, have worked diligently to find a replacement of comparable entertainment. “Artists are booked months in advance, so the task of finding someone on such short notice proved to be quite difficult,” said fair officials.

Fair officials and Triangle Talent worked through several options. However, they were unable to find a country artist who was available and of the same caliber while also keeping ticket prices equal to the original ticket.

Fair Manager Greg Hallstrom stated, “It is a disappointment that Little Big Town had to cancel. We were all looking forward to having them in Clearfield. However, we completely understand that this is a medical issue and in the best interest of Jimi Westbrook.

“We wanted to stay with the original genre scheduled for the evening (country) and provide equal value of entertainment. Unfortunately, with such short notice, we were unable to do so.”

Fair officials will still host a show for country fans. David Nail will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 7. Fair officials will host this concert free to fairgoers with paid gate admission.

The Clearfield Fair & Park Board does have a “No Refund Policy.” However, it will put into effect “a refund policy/procedure” for the Little Big Town concert.

Those requesting a refund must complete a Refund Request Form. Full details of the procedure, along with the form, can be found on the fair’s official Web site.

The form can also be obtained at the Ticket Office. The completed Refund Request Form, along with the tickets, may be mailed to P.O. Box 712, Attn. Little Big Town Refund, Clearfield PA 16830 or hand-delivered to the Ticket Office.

Mailed requests must be postmarked by Aug. 6. Hand-delivered requests to the Ticket Office must be received by 8 p.m. Aug. 7.

If you purchased your tickets and paid by credit card, your credit card will be credited in the amount of the ace value of the ticket. Please allow up to four weeks for this credit to post to your account.

If you paid by cash or check please allow up to five weeks for the processing of your refund request and for receipt of a refund check that will be mailed to you. Refunds will not be issued at the Ticket Office or the Main Office.
