Beverly J. Osewalt, 87, of Philipsburg died Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg.
Born Aug. 28, 1927 in Ashland, RD Osceola Mills, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. Sr. and Ruby V. (Ritchie) Hartman.
She married James A. Osewalt on June 30, 1979 in Osceola Mills. He preceded her in death on Aug. 4, 2001.
Mrs. Osewalt was a member of the Osceola Mills Presbyterian Church; she was formerly a deacon of the church. She was a member of VFW Post 5020 Ladies Auxiliary in Osceola Mills and of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Presbyterian Homes. Mrs. Osewalt enjoyed reading and knitting.
She was employed with the revenue department at the Philipsburg State General Hospital until her retirement in 1989. She was a 1945 graduate of Philipsburg High School.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. “Eddie” Hartman Jr.
Mrs. Osewalt is survived by a daughter, Bridget Burton and her husband, William of Huntingdon; a step-son, Dennis Osewalt of California; two grandchildren, Brandon Burton and his wife, Jenn of Harrisburg and Bethany Burton of Virginia Beach, Va.; and two great-granddaughters, Brooke and Sophia Burton, both of Harrisburg.
At Mrs. Osewalt’s request, there will be no public visitation or funeral. Burial will be at the Centre Cemetery in RD Osceola Mills.
