Ruth E. Welder, 85, of Sheffield died Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born May 24, 1930 in Chestnut Grove, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Alda (Marshall) Schaffer.
She was married to Thomas Welder. He preceded her in death on Sept. 3, 1996.
Mrs. Welder was a homemaker. She was a past member of Bible Fellowship at Drockers’ Woods.
She is survived by her siblings, Bernel Schaffer and Norman Schaffer, both of DuBois, Leon Schaffer of Luthersburg, Robert Schaffer and John Schaffer, both of Big Run, Victor Schaffer of Punxsutawney, Carl Schaffer of Brewerton, NY, Leland “Fred” Schaffer of Sabula, Judy Woods of Sheffield, Shirley Hoeh of Central Square, NY, and Victoria Lewis of Clearfield.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorrena McMinn and Rosena Haag and two brothers, Wilbur and Howard Schaffer.
Friends will be received from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. Friday until the time of service at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A service will be held at 12 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Charles M. Lee officiating.
Burial will be in Luthersburg Union Cemetery.
