Richard P. Washic Jr., 41, of Allport died Friday, June 17, 2015 in Crawford County.

Born Jan. 31, 1974 in Tyrone, he was the son of Richard P. Washic Sr. and his wife, Mary Ann of Houtzdale and Sharon Grubbs of Osceola Mills.

Mr. Washic was a 1992 graduate of the Moshannon Valley High School.  He was Orthodox by faith.

He was a sergeant first class stationed in Coraopolis, where he was in the Second Battalion in the Army Reserves Career Division.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge No. 515, Osceola Mills; the American Legion Post 591, Houtzdale; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Smithmill; the Loyal Order of the Moose, Houtzdale; the Croatian Club, Smoke Run; Freeberg Social Club, Houtzdale; the Mosquito Creek Sportsmen’s Club, Frenchville; and the Morann Citizens Club, Morann.

Mr. Washic was a lieutenant for the Quehanna Boot Camp, Karthaus. He was an avid hunter and loved spending time with his family.

He was married to Nicole Ziembo Washic. She survives in Allport.

He is survived by three daughters, Jenessa Ceprish, Paige Washic and Skyler Ceprish, all of Allport.

He is also survived by two sisters, Nicole M. Smith and her husband, Chris of Clearfield and Laura Mihalko and her husband, Doug of Madera; a brother, Kevin Brady and his wife, Dana of West Decatur; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Washic was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ralph and Eva Grubbs; his paternal grandparents, Peter and Irene Washic; and one brother, Stephen Washic.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Gethsemane United Methodist Church, Allport, with the Rev. Robert Ford, Father David Lewis and the Rev. James Hollister officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Marys Orthodox Cemetery, Madera.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.

Honor Guard will be provided by the Quehanna Boot Camp and Second Battalion ARCD. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to Masonic Lodge No. 515, Shriners Hospital for Children, Masonic Hall, 12 Dogwood Ln., Osceola Mills, PA 16666.
