Mancuso Accused of Threatening Ex-girlfriend Via Text Message

DUBOIS – A DuBois man is accused of making threats against his ex-girlfriend.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office June 28, Matthew Eugene Mancuso, 38, 118 N. Second St., DuBois, is charged by the DuBois City police with harassment following an incident June 28.

According to the affidavit, police were contacted by a witness who said he received a text message from an unknown person, which allegedly said the victim “screwed” him (the sender) over and that the sender was “willing to do whatever I (the sender) need to bury her (the victim).” The text message also allegedly asked if the witness was “game.”

The witness said that his ex-wife was the person being threatened in the text message and the witness told police he was concerned for the victim’s safety and that of his children.

The witness told police he believed the text message came from Mancuso, as Mancuso is the victim’s boyfriend. The witness also said Mancuso had harassed him in the past and threatened to assault him.

The witness told police he was very alarmed by the message and wanted to press charges.

The officers then called the number, but got a voicemail message saying the number was for “Matt.” The officers then searched databases and confirmed the number belonged to Mancuso.
