Jan L. Erickson, 55, of Thetford, Norfolk County, England and formerly of Philipsburg, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at Attenbrooks Hospital, Cambridge, England.

Born June 7, 1960, at Selfridge Air Force Base, Michigan, he was the son of the late John H. Sr., and Ann (Custaney) Erickson and his step-mother, Rae Erickson, who survives of Philipsburg.

He married the former Sarah Dilley on April 6, 1994 in Bigglesway Wade, England. She survives at home.

Mr. Erickson began his career in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from high school. He retired in 1998 after 20 years of service.

From 1998-2002, he worked as a cashier at RAF Lakenheath Air Force Support Squadron.  He then joined RAF Mildenhall Air Force Support Squadron as the lodging accountant for the Air Force Inns where he was employed.

He was a 1978 graduate of the Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School.  He was a member of the B.P.O. Elks No. 1173 of Philipsburg and he enjoyed bowling and traveling with his wife.

In addition to his wife and step-mother, Mr. Erickson is survived by a sister, Deborah A. Harris and her husband, William of Osceola Mills; a step-sister, Cheryl Anderson of Philipsburg; three brothers, John H. Erickson, Jr. and his wife, Margaret of Kingsland, Ga., Joseph A. Erickson Jr. and his wife, Kathy of Charlotte, NC and Jeffrey L. Erickson and his wife, Dana of Simpsonville, SC; and a step-brother, Jeffrey McDonald of Philipsburg.

He is also survived by his nephews, Nathan and Trevor Harris of Osceola Mills, John Thomason and his wife, Marie, Kris Erickson, David Erickson and his wife, Anna, Timothy Erickson and his wife Alli and two great-nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at West Suffolk Crematorium, with Civil Celebrant Shaun Cosby officiating.

Visitation was held at the Turner Funeral Home in Thetford, Norfolk County, England.

Full military honors were accorded by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.
