Clara V. Ardary, 97, of Clearfield died Monday, June 29, 2015.
She was born March 19, 1918 in Grampian, a daughter of the late Steve J. and Theresa (Smith) Lash.
Mrs. Ardary was a devoted homemaker who worked hard at raising her family. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, attending church functions and had a special love of animals.
She was a life-time member of the St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield. She was also a former member of the Lawrence Township Fire Department Auxiliary.
She is survived by three children, Barbara Emerson of Griffin, Ga., Charles ‘Charlie’ Ardary of Curwensville and Virginia Grice and Tom of Clearfield.
She is survived by seven grandchildren, Dick Carr, Billy Carr, Steve Tobias, Andy Bowman and his wife, Terri, Lynette Brooks, Sherri Gaines and her husband, Clayton and Tom Grice and his wife, Leslie; numerous great-grandchildren; and two step-children, Mona Lenhart and her husband, Richard and Donald Ardary and his wife, Dallis, both of Clearfield.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde W. ‘Bill’ Ardary, on Sept. 18, 2004 and to whom she was wed Nov. 18, 1939.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lucille Thomas and Helen McKenna and a brother, Francis Lash.
A funeral service will be private and held at the convenience of the family; however, a mass will be said in memory of Mrs. Ardary at a later date.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Clearfield Foundation for Health – Hospice, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield, or to the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals 275, 21st St., Clearfield.
