Janet D. Nearhood, 83, of Morrisdale, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2015 at Windy Hill Village, Philipsburg.
Born May 20, 1932 in Morrisdale, she was a daughter of the late James & Edith (Wilson) Densham.
Mrs. Nearhood was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, Hawk Run.
On March 24, 1951 she married Russell A. Nearhood, who preceded her in death December 16, 1988.
Mrs. Nearhood is survived by her children Russell Neal Nearhood of Florida, William James Nearhood and his wife Peggy of Port Matilda, David Lee Nearhood of Morrisdale, Linda Kay and her long-time companion Bob Blouse of Eighty Four, and Mark Allen Nearhood of Morrisdale; three sisters Doris Roberts of Greenbelt, MD, Nancy Millinder and her husband Ed of West Decatur, and Marlene Diviney and her husband Ken of Allport; a brother Robert Densham and his wife Peggy of York Haven, PA; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Nearhood was preceded in death by a son Ray A. Nearhood, a sister Louise Densham and two brothers William Densham and James Densham.
Funeral Services will be held at the David K. Dahlgren Funeral Home, 228 N. Centre St. Philipsburg on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 11am with Rev. Clifford A. Johnston officiating.
Burial will be in the Allport Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 30 from 6-9 pm.
