News Partner Explore Jefferson: Bridge Collapses in Ridgway

ELK COUNTY – A bridge on North Broad Street in Ridgway (Route 219) collapsed Thursday afternoon.

According to Elk County Office of Emergency Services, the incident occurred around 2:30 p.m.

Multiple construction workers and a large excavator were on the bridge at the time of the collapse. Initial reports indicate at least three people were injured in the collapse.

Video: Police Ask for Assistance in Identifying Suspect

Clearfield– Police need assistance in identifying the male shown in surveillance video.  According to police, the male suspect allegedly tagged at least four buildings with the symbol picture below.  The incidents occurred on May 24.

Kephart Signs Plea Deal

CLEARFIELD – A Morrisdale man accused of stealing funds from his employees has signed a plea agreement.

Timothy Lee Kephart, 56, Hummingbird Road, Morrisdale, an inmate of the jail, allegedly took money intended for his employees’ pensions and insurance premiums beginning in 2011. He is also accused of taking money from investors intended for Kephart Trucking Company in Bigler.

Clearfield-Jefferson Drug and Alcohol Commission files suit against Clearfield County Controller

The Clearfield-Jefferson Drug and Alcohol Commission has filed a complaint against the Clearfield County Controller for 10 years’ worth of allegedly missing money.

Elk’s High Country Arts and Craft Fair Slated July 12

The 27th High Country Arts & Craft Fair will be held Sunday July 12th from 10 a.m. to 5.pm. at S.B. Elliott State Park, ½ mile from I-80, Exit 111.

Former Elementary School Sold to Cen-Clear Child Services

A former elementary school has been sold by the Clearfield Area School District.

At a special meeting Monday, the Clearfield Area School Board voted to authorize the sale of the former Bradford Township Elementary School and any remaining contents to Cen-Clear Child Services Inc., a 501c3 non-profit entity.
