Obituary Notice: Charles John McClure

Charles McClure 4 (1)Charles John McClure, 69, of Curwensville passed away Tuesday June 16, 2015 at Ridgeview Elder Care in Curwensville after a lengthy illness.

Born January 1, 1946 in the Clearfield Hospital, he was the son of Robert V. and Mary Ann (Balaban) McClure.  Mr. McClure was a Diesel and Service Mechanic having first worked for Clearfield Truck Rentals, then Brown Brothers Trucking, next Guy Graham Trucking, and finally for Butler Trucking of Woodland where he retired after 25 years of service.

He was a member of the Curwensville Presbyterian Church, a life member of Knepp’s Camp, a Life Member of the Rescue Hose and Ladder Company of Curwensville, a member of Noble Lodge #480 F. & A. M. Curwensville, and a member of and past president of the Curwensville Sportsman Association.

Surviving are two children Nancy McClure Pinto and husband James of Clearfield and Robert A. “Middy” McClure and wife Darlene of Curwensville, 3 grandchildren Shelby and Steven McClure of Curwensville and Nichole Fye of Miami, FL and 2 brothers Robert E. McClure of Curwensville and Michael McClure and wife Donna of Kellytown.

Also surviving is his companion Gail McClure of Curwensville, her children Ronald McClure of Indiana, Tom and wife Becky McClure and Dave and wife Joanna McClure both of Curwensville and her 4 grandchildren Erika Leigey, Bryce and Zachary McClure. and Nathaniel McClure all of Curwensville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and Gail McClure’s daughter Susan McClure.

A Memorial Service for Charles J. McClure will be held at the Curwensville Presbyterian Church 430 Locust Street Curwensville on Wednesday June 24, 2015 at 11:00 AM, with Mr. Gary Jewart and Rev. Charles Tabor co-officiating.  Interment will be in the McClure Cemetery Curwensville.

Friends will be received at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home, Inc. of Curwensville on Tuesday June 23 from 3 to 8 PM, and again at the Church on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM.

A Masonic Memorial Service will be conducted by members of Noble Lodge #480 Free & Accepted Masons of Curwensville, PA on Tuesday June 23, 2015 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family suggests contributions be made to the Curwensville Presbyterian Church 430 Locust Street Curwensville, PA 16833.
