Detour Lifted on Shawville Bridge Job in Clearfield County

Clearfield –The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announces that the detour on Route 879 for the Shawville bridge project will be lifted Wednesday morning. PennDOT expects to lift the detour no later than 10AM tomorrow. The detour has been in place since late April to accommodate slope excavation and roadway re-alignment work.

Overall work on the project is continuing and drivers should use caution through the work zone. Intermittent flagging operations during daylight hours should be expected. Daylight work hours are 7AM to 5PM Monday through Thursday and 7AM to 3PM Fridays.

The new bridge has been opened to traffic since late May and the old bridge has been demolished.

Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc. of State College is the contractor on this $5 million project. All work is weather and schedule dependent. The project is expected to finish later this summer.
