“Jurassic World” keeps getting bigger.
With revised preliminary numbers on Monday, the Universal film beat the previous record — the $207.4 million opening of 2012’s “The Avengers” — for highest-grossing box office opening weekend in U.S. history with a $208.7 million gross.
This “Jurassic World” number was revised up from the earlier estimates of $204.5 million on Sunday.
The new figure is preliminary and final numbers will hit later in the day.
