Clearfield Revitalization Corp. Releases Event Schedule for Bloom and Berry Bash

CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield Revitalization Corp’s. (CRC) third annual Bloom and Berry Bash will offer food vendors, live entertainment, events on the West Branch of the Susquehanna River and enjoyment on June 27 in downtown Clearfield.

The festival will kick-off at 10 a.m. with vendors lining areas of Market and Third streets. More than 80 artisans will feature work that ranges from ceramics, fiber, wood, leather and metalwork to jewelry, glass, photography and mixed-media art pieces. There will also be an array of food vendors.

Live entertainment will be provided by Guitarnia at 11 a.m. It will continue with a unique, local father/daughter duo, Megan McGarry Music, at 2 p.m.

The CRC will host a Rubber Duck Derby at 1 p.m. in Lower Witmer Park. Each rubber duck will race its way downriver to the finish line and carry a unique number corresponding to a purchased ticket.

Each ticket costs $5 and will earn the buyer one duck in the race. The ducks are awaiting the chance to be the first across the finish line to win their ticketholder a first place, $300; a second place, $150; and a third place, $50 cash prize.

Ticketholders do not need to be present to win. Only 500 tickets will be sold for the Rubber Duck Derby. A limited amount of souvenir rubber ducks will be given to the children at the race.

The Clearfield Volunteer Fire Department will host its first-ever Battle of the Berry Competition (Battle of the Barrel). The competition is open to Clearfield County fire companies.

At this time, event organizers are only accepting one team per company due to space and time. Helmet, eye protection and closed-toe shoes are required. All other gear is optional.

A captains’ meeting will begin at 1:45 p.m.; the competition will begin at 2 p.m. Trophies will be awarded for first through third places. Cost is $50 per team and registration is due June 12.
