Not-so-good “Wife”?
There have long been rumors of tension between actresses Julianna Margulies and Archie Panjabi on the set of their CBS show, with many claiming Margulies has issues with her co-star.
Fans of “The Good Wife” noted that their characters had not appeared on screen together in a while, and then Panjabi, who won a supporting actress Emmy in 2010, announced that she was leaving the show.
But after the show’s season finale aired in early May, Michael Ausiello of TVLine wrote that the final scene between Margulies’ and Panjabi’s characters had been a bit of slight of hand.
“Margulies and Panjabi did not shoot that scene together, I have come to learn,” he wrote. “Body doubles were employed for the single shots, and the two-shot was spliced together in post-production.”
No one connected with the show responded to the accusation initially, but now Panjabi has — sort of.
On Tuesday, the actress spoke to Us Weekly on the red carpet for the premiere of her new film, “San Andreas.” When asked whether it was true that she the final scene had been finessed, Panjabi had an interesting answer.
“You know, I can’t answer that,” she said. “It’s not fair for me to answer those decisions. As much as I want to. But those decisions are made by the producers. I’m not privy to those decisions. All I do know is, I’m very grateful to (“Good Wife” showrunners Robert and Michelle King] for making the decision to cast me.”
And so the speculation continues.
