CLEARFIELD – District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. has announced Clearfield County’s Fugitive of the Week for the week of May 26.

Shaw identified the fugitive as Nicole Marie Coleman, 23, of Bigler Avenue, Clearfield. Coleman is wanted for failure to appear at Sentencing Court on May 19.

On Aug. 6, 2014, Officer Levi Olson of the Lawrence Township Police Department filed a criminal complaint against Coleman. He charged Coleman with forgery, F3; theft by unlawful taking, M2; theft by deception, M2; receiving stolen property, M2; and theft by deception, M3.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, on Aug. 5, 2014, police received a report about an alleged theft and a forged check. Upon investigation police found that Coleman had allegedly unlawfully removed a check, U.S. currency and various pieces of jewelry from the victim’s apartment.

Police also found that Coleman had allegedly forged the victim’s signature on the check and cashed it. Additionally, police determined that Coleman had allegedly sold the victim’s jewelry in exchange for U.S. currency.

A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 27, 2014, at which time all charges were held for court. On May 19, Coleman failed to appear at Sentencing Court, and a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Coleman is described as a Caucasian female who stands 5 feet, 5 inches tall. She has brown hair and eyes.
