REYNOLDSVILLE – Did you know that the Digital Media Technology CTE program at Jeff Tech produces educational television shows?
The shows, which these students produce, air on DuBois TV and Comcast Cable Channel 19 and are available to view on YouTube.
Producing this type of media affords DMT students with the opportunity to practice the skills obtained in their CTE program, such as video and audio production, graphic design and 3D motion graphics. It also gives them the opportunity to meet and interview professionals within the realm of their chosen career pathway.
The most recent show produced by the DMT students was an educational TV show that featured world-renowned combat photojournalist, Jonathan Snyder of the U.S. Air Force.
DMT students, sophomore Jesse Divens and freshman Taylor Boleen interviewed Snyder for the show.
Snyder, who is a 28-year-old alumni from the DuBois Area High School and from Rockton, had a passion for the mass communication-related career fields, such as photography, videography and broadcast journalism since he was in high school.
Snyder joined the air force at the age of 17 years and upon completion of basic training, he entered the Defense Information School to learn still photography.
Snyder is presently at the Third Combat Camera Squadron on Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland as an aerial combat photojournalist.
Snyder has received many accolades over the years from his photographic work, winning a multitude of first place media awards from the Air Force and Department of Defense. He has also had his work published in Time, The Washington Post, Business Insider, PBS, Fox News and more.
The show featuring Snyder is scheduled to premiere on May 27 on DuBoisTV, Comcast Cable Channel 19. It will be shown again over a two-week period during regular educational programming blocks (2 a.m., 6 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.).
