Leon Thomas Goodford, 76, of Garner, NC and formerly of DuBois, died Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at his home in Garner, NC.
Born Feb. 14, 1939 in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Leon W. and Josephine (Spinda) Goodford.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
On April 28, 1962, he married Carol L. Burrs. She survives.
After 30 years of service, he retired as a welder for General Motors in Rochester, NY.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking.
Three children and one granddaughter survive him: a dear daughter and son-in-law, Karen L. and Vincent Wright of Raleigh, NC; a wonderful granddaughter, Kaleigh L. Goodford of Ashville, NC; his sons, Thomas M. Goodford (Lori) of Rochester, NY, and Mark W. Goodford (Lisa) of Luthersburg; and a brother, James A. Goodford of DuBois.
There will be no public visitation.
A memorial mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 30 at the St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Daniel Kresinski as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery in DuBois.
