Obituary Notice: Joe R. London

Joe Robert London, 63, of Irishtown died Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Born Dec. 7, 1951 in Punxsutawney, he was the son of the late Joe B. and Della (Berringer) London.

He was the owner of J London Trucking Inc. and J. London Long Haul LLC of Olanta.  Prior to starting his business, he worked for more than 20 years in construction in northern Virginia as an equipment operator and supervisor.

He was an active member of the Curwensville VFW Post No. 842, the Curwensville Loyal Order of Moose Family Center No. 268 and the Curwensville American Legion Post No. 505.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, Bernadette “Bernie” (McKeown) London; two sons, Joseph “Hondo” London and his partner, Genia Tkacik of Clearfield and Daniel London and his wife, Leslie (Hudson) London of Walltown; and two daughters, Amy London and Megan London, both of Grampian.

Also surviving are three grandchildren, Brent, Brylee and Bradley; a sister, Vicky (London) Cochran and her husband, Donald Cochran of Big Run; and two brothers, Michael “Curly” London and his wife, Julie of Oliveburg and Jeffrey London and his wife, Gale of Cortland, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. of Curwensville, with the Rev. Fr. Mark J. Mastrian officiating. Burial will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Cloe.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
