Anthony G. Franek, 72, of Drifting died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at his residence. Born March 28, 1943, he was the son of the late George and Mary Nagray Franek.
Mr. Franek was a Vietnam veteran. He received a Purple Heart, a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal, an Army Commendation Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge.
He’s survived by his daughter, Lisa Ayers and her husband, Ronald II of Warriors Mark and his grandsons, Joshua Clancy of Williamsport and Samuel Ayers of Warriors Mark.
He’s survived by four sisters, Margaret Seal of Vassar, Mich., JoAnne Martin and Miriam Koleno, both of Drifting, and Rose Ann Hoover of Houtzdale and two brothers, Arthur Franek and his wife, Alice of Casanova and John Franek and his wife, Nancy of Ginter.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Franek was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven and George Franek.
A Celebration of Life with Prayer will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Severin’s Roman Catholic Church, Drifting, with Father David A. Perry Jr. officiating. Burial will be in the St. Severin Roman Catholic Cemetery, Drifting.
There will not be any public visitation.
The Johnson Funeral Home, Grassflat, is serving the family.
