Charles E. ‘Chuck’ Peters, 92, of Clearfield died Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at the Penn Highlands Clearfield.

He was born Feb. 23, 1923 in Clover Hill, a son of the late Charles Edgar and Alma (Johns) Peters.

Mr. Peters had been employed many places, including various area coal mines, being an instrument repairman at Westinghouse in Sharon, driving over-the-road tractor-trailer for Daily Express and most recently, delivering food through the Meals on Wheels program where he enjoyed meeting people.

In his spare time, he repaired any kind of electronic and even built his first television in 1947. He also had restored Volkswagen Beetles and developed home movies for family.

Mr. Peters attended the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Clearfield.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. (Hedglin) Peters, to whom he was wed Sept. 20, 1941.

He is survived by five children, Charles Peters Jr. and his wife, Bonnie and Larry Peters, both of Clearfield, Daniel Peters of Hubbard, Ohio, Linda Pilch and her husband, Joseph of Brockway and Rita Hemphill and her husband, George of St. Cloud, Fla.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters; and a brother.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Gill; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; one sister; and four brothers.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kevin A Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield, with the Rev. Robert B. Goldenberg officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Clearfield.

Because of Mr. Peters’ love of animals and the joy he had meeting the people through Meals on Wheels delivery, the family strongly asks that donations be sent to either the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st St., Clearfield, or to the Meals on Wheels Program, c/o CCAAA, P.O. Box 550, Clearfield.
