DUBOIS – At the recommendation of City Manager John “Herm” Suplizio, members of the DuBois City Council granted an extension for the clean-up of Kuntz Street during Monday night’s regular meeting.
According to council, the original deadline for the clean-up was May 15. Once the deadline expires, council stated that the city will fine the property owner $25 per day.
It was noted that the owner approached city officials and Code Enforcement Officer Zac Lawhead about an extension.
Suplizio stated that both he and Lawhead agreed to a 10-day extension, which pushed the deadline to May 25. However, Suplizio stated that it was extended until May 31, so that it would coincide with the end of the month.
Suplizio asked council to stop by May 13-14 to see the painting of the Fourth Ward Fire Hall. According to him, Sherwin Williams will do the painting for a savings of at least $15,000. Sherwin Williams will provide the supplies and paint for the project.
The council approved the use of the city park for the annual “Charged” event on Aug. 15. “Charged” is sponsored by the Calvary Church of God, Charged Ministries and RevFM.
The “Charged” event will have live music, games, a kid’s carnival, inspirational speakers, etc. The event has been going on since 2009 but was held at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds, according to council.
Councilwoman Diane Bernardo was excused from the meeting.
