BURNSIDE TOWNSHIP – A fire at an abandoned Burnside Township residence has been ruled arson, reported the state police at Punxsutawney.
According to the report, a fire was discovered Friday night at 8273 Main St. Upon arrival to the scene, the Mahaffey Fire Department requested a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit to investigate the origin and cause of the fire.
Upon investigation it was found that the residence was abandoned without any utilities. The fire originated on the exterior of the residence and has been ruled an arson, state police said.
