The FBI issued a bulletin to police in Garland, Texas about Elton Simpson’s interest in the controversial Prophet Muhammad cartoon event about three hours before Simpson and Nadir Soofi launched their attack, FBI Director James Comey said Thursday.
Comey said the FBI had seen his social media comments referencing the event but didn’t know he was traveling to Texas. Comey made the comments at a meeting with reporters in Washington.
“I know there are other Elton Simpsons out there,” Comey said.
