State police at Clearfield

• An incident of theft by unlawful taking occurred sometime Friday or Saturday near Caprio’s Beer Distributor in Woodward Township. During the incident, someone allegedly removed an all-terrain vehicle sign. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• An alleged incident of scattering rubbish occurred Friday or Saturday in the area of McCully Avenue and Ida, Susquehanna and Pacific streets in Woodward Township. The incident remains under investigation at this time; anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• A hit-and-run accident involving property damage occurred sometime April 28-29 on Railroad Street in Coalport Borough. Further, an operator of a vehicle allegedly damaged the victim’s chain-linked fence and then left the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.
• An incident of criminal mischief/harassment occurred April 30 at Jimmy’s Corner parking lot in Bigler Township. During the incident, a 20-year-old Houtzdale woman allegedly damaged the victim’s vehicle. The woman also allegedly struck a second victim with a closed fist in the upper part of their shoulder. She then fled the scene in a red-colored Ford Excursion; charges will be filed through the district court. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Clearfield at 814-857-3800.

State police at DuBois

• An incident of DUI occurred Saturday on Sportsman Dam Road in Winslow Township. Further, a 41-year-old Reynoldsville woman’s vehicle was allegedly stuck in a ditch; she was allegedly passed out in the driver’s seat with the vehicle running. When state police woke her up, she allegedly became combative and a strong odor of alcohol was evident on her breath. The woman refused to get out and had to be removed from her vehicle by state police. She was subsequently arrested for DUI, resisting arrest and other summary traffic offenses pending blood test results.
• An alleged incident of theft from a motor vehicle occurred sometime Friday or Saturday in the 1100 block of Hormtown Road in Winslow Township.
• An incident of assault/harassment occurred Friday on Longwell Road in Snyder Township. Further, the alleged victim told state police that she was physically assaulted by a known female during an argument. State police noted that the alleged victim declined prosecution against the female.

State police at Philipsburg

• An incident of criminal mischief occurred sometime Saturday or Sunday at Bethel Court in Halfmoon Township. During the incident, someone allegedly smashed the victim’s mailbox and dislodged it from its post. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
• An incident of burglary occurred sometime April 30 or Friday on Jesse Street in Rush Township. During the incident, someone allegedly attempted to break into a residence through the front door. Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police at Philipsburg at 814-342-3370.
• An accident occurred Saturday on Centre Street in Philipsburg Borough. Further, the operator of a Reliance Fire Co. fire truck intended to back it into the firehouse and pulled into the center of the roadway in order to swing wide to the right with space. As its operator started to swing to the right across the northbound lane, the fire truck cut off another vehicle that was coming up along the right side. After seeing the fire truck turning ahead, the vehicle’s operator swerved to the right and applied the brakes to avoid the collision. However, the fire truck contacted with the left, front fender of the vehicle. Minor damage was reported as a result of the accident, state police said.

State police at Ridgway

• State police at Ridgway conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Saturday on Route 948 in Fox Township. As a result, state police arrested five for DUI and issued 14 other citations and 22 written warnings. In all, state police initiated contact with 37 operators.

Lawrence Township

• Police received a report about an accident in the area of the Clearfield – Glen Richey and the Krebs highways. It involved a coal truck that had overturned, police said.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of sexual harassment/corruption of minors that occurred at a local school. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• Police received a report about a male who was allegedly being disorderly in Lowe’s by swinging a hammer at another individual. The male left the store prior to police arrival.
• Police received a report about an alleged phone scam from a township resident.
• Police received a report about a brush fire in the area of 21^St Further, police determined it was the borough crew burning at the compost site.
• Police received a report about an alleged phone scam.
• Police received a report about an alleged scam on an Internet Web site.
• Police received a report about ATVs that were allegedly stolen. The ATVs were recovered and returned to the owner, police said.
• Police received a parking complaint that occurred on Wrigley Street.
• Police received a report about a civil property dispute.
• Police received a report about a possible missing male. However, police were able to locate the male and found he wasn’t actually missing.
• Police received a report about a possible abandoned vehicle. Further, police attempted to make contact with the owner of the vehicle.
• Police received a report about an alleged incident of fraud that occurred at a local business.
• Police located a suspicious vehicle on Mount Zion Road.
• Police received a report about an accident on Route 322. No injuries were reported as a result of the accident, police said.
• Police received a report about a possible abused animal at the Discovery House. However, the owner and the animal were gone upon police arrival.
• Police received a report about an alarm at a local business on Cresswood Drive.
• Police received a report about an alarm at a local business on the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway.
• Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute on Brown Street. Upon arrival police didn’t find any evidence of a disturbance.
• Police received a report about a dog that was allegedly locked inside a vehicle at the Wal-Mart Supercenter. Upon arrival police found the dog wasn’t in distress. While at the scene, police also found evidence of a drug violation for which charges are pending.
• Police received a report about an activated alarm on Washington Avenue. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
• Police received a report about an activated alarm on the Clearfield – Curwensville Highway. Upon arrival police found everything to be OK.
• Police received a report about an ATV accident that occurred on a private driveway near Wolf Run Road. One male was transported to the Altoona Hospital for treatment, police said.
• Police received a report about a motor vehicle accident in front of the Clearfield Mall. No injuries were reported and one vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
• Police received a burning complaint that occurred on Clarendon Avenue. However, police were unable to locate the fire.

Curwensville Borough

• Police received a report about a wallet and duffel bag that had allegedly been removed Saturday from a Curwensville Commons apartment.
• Police located an open door at a residence on Friday.
• Police arrested a Michigan man after a vehicle stop on Route 879 on Sunday. He was lodged in the Clearfield County Jail to await arraignment.

DuBois City

• An unknown individual allegedly attempted to scam a DuBois woman over the phone on Friday. Further, police said that the woman allegedly received a call about updating her computer and she sent money to the company for it to be done. Police said she was then allegedly contacted again by a man claiming to want to return her money.  The man, police said, allegedly wanted her bank account information in order to send the money to it; the woman did not provide him the information.
• On Friday police received a report about an alleged disturbance in the 100 block of West Washington Avenue. Police learned that a male was allegedly going to one of the apartments to hurt another male.  The caller told police that they were being very loud and yelling.  Upon police arrival, all of the involved parties were gone.
• On Friday police responded to DuBois Street near the Veterans of Foreign Wars, where a dog was reportedly struck by a vehicle.  Police arrived at the scene and managed to locate the owner of the dog.  Police said that the owner responded to take the dog to a veterinarian for treatment.
• A counterfeit bill was passed Saturday at a business in the first block of West Long Avenue. The incident remains under investigation at this time, police said.
• Police conducted a traffic stop Saturday on West DuBois Avenue for violations that occurred at the intersection of West DuBois Avenue and DuBois Street.  While speaking with the male driver of a white Ford truck, police determined he was intoxicated.  He was arrested for DUI and a traffic violation and then transported for a blood draw. Charges are pending upon the results of the toxicology report, police said.
• On Saturday police were contacted by a Punxsutawney woman who advised them that she had an inspection sticker stolen from her vehicle while it was parked at a business on North Franklin Street.  The inspection sticker was allegedly stolen within the past three weeks, police said, noting the incident remains under investigation at this time.
• A two-vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Railroad Avenue and Liberty Boulevard on Sunday.  Further, a 2014 Ram truck operated by a 41-year-old Mississippi man failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic, as he was turning left. As a result, his truck was struck by a 2013 Hyundai operated by a 64-year-old DuBois man. Both the driver and the passenger in Hyundai were transported by DuSan Amserv to Penn Highlands for treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.  The Mississippi man was issued a citation for the accident.
• Police received a report about an alleged physical domestic assault Sunday in the 100 block of East Long Avenue.  While police were en route, the female victim advised that the male actor had left the scene.  Upon arrival police spoke with the female victim who alleged that a 32-year-old DuBois male had grabbed a hold of her, threw her against the wall, smashed her phone and then threw the phone.  Charges were filed on the male actor, police said.
• On Sunday police encountered a female and male behind a business in the 200 block of West Long Avenue.  Police allegedly observed both the male and the female to be staggering and stumbling as they were walking.  Police made contact with the male and female and found both to be intoxicated. Both were arrested for public drunkenness, police said.
• Police performed a traffic stop Sunday on a silver Hyundai passenger vehicle for traffic violations. While speaking with the female driver, police determined she was intoxicated. She was arrested for DUI and transported to have blood drawn.  The passenger, a 20-year-old female from Reynoldsville, was cited for disorderly conduct.  Charges are pending upon the results of the toxicology report, police said.
• Police received a report about an alleged physical domestic dispute involving a father and son Sunday in the 100 block of Luther Avenue.  Upon arrival police made contact with the 24-year-old son who had blood running out of his nose and who was complaining about pain in his nose.  Police also made contact with the 52-year-old father who had scratches about his back and chest. While investigating, police determined that the father and son had allegedly engaged into a physical altercation. The son was transported to Penn Highlands for treatment and released; the father refused treatment.  Both the father and the son were arrested for domestic violence, police said.

Sandy Township

• On Friday police recovered the trailer that was stolen from a work site on Industrial Drive. The suspects were taken into custody and charges were filed, police said.
• Police received a report about an alleged domestic dispute Friday at a Hanes Drive residence. A 31-year-old woman and her 39-year-old boyfriend engaged in a verbal argument over a cell phone.  Police handled the situation without incident.
• A vehicle driven by a 68-year-old Northwood Avenue man hit a vehicle that was parked in a garage on Murtland Avenue then left the scene on Saturday. The man returned to the scene upon police arrival. He allegedly admitted he had been drinking and was taken to Penn Highlands for a legal blood draw. There was severe damage to both vehicles and the garage; no injuries were reported as a result, police said.
• On Saturday a 49-year-old Newell Road resident reported that horses were loose in his yard, and they were causing damage to his property. Police located the owner of the horses and handled the situation without incident.
• A 38-year-old Treasure Lake man allegedly took a $2,498 television from Wal-Mart without paying for it on Saturday. The incident remains under investigation, police said.
• A 27-year-old Falls Creek man and his 29-year-old brother allegedly got into a fight at the Sandy Club on Sunday. The 27-year-old lost a tooth and was taken to Penn Highlands for his injuries, police said.
• Police received a report about a four-wheeler being driven up and down Cook Road on Sunday. Police located the vehicle and the driver and handled the situation without incident.
