A New York City plainclothes police officer was in critical but stable condition Saturday night after being shot in the head in Queens, a senior law enforcement source told CNN.
The officer was working for the department’s Anti-Crime Unit and was being treated at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
One person is being questioned in connection with the shooting, the source said.
The officer was shot by an individual he was attempting to question, the source said.
Mayor Bill de Blasio was at the hospital where the officer was taken, his office said.
