Obituary Notice: Dorothy J. Gallaher

20150430_145426956_1Dorothy J. Gallaher, 65, of Kerrmoor died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Penn Highland DuBois.

She was born June 22, 1949 in Clearfield. She was the daughter of Boyd and Helen (Michaels) Ross.

She was a member of the Zion Baptist Church, Irvona. She served as church clerk, pianist and leader of the Olympian Children’s Ministry.

She had worked as a bookkeeper at the Curwensville Feed Store, the Lezzer Lumber Co. and Comfort Keepers, as an auditor for Ferguson Township and as a secretary for Lumber City Borough.

She is survived by three children, Michelle Norman and her husband, Mike of Clearfield, Becky McClain and her husband, Travis of Scottsdale and Darren Summers and his wife, Val of Curwensville.

She is survived by three step-daughters, Pam Barrett and her husband, David of LaJose, Paula Kohler and her husband, Joe of Erie and Peggy Barrett and her husband, Mark of Bells Landing.

She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Molly Selfridge and her husband, Eric, Janessa Skiles and her husband, Shaun, Joseph Kohler, Ian Barrett, Evan Barrett, Kirstin Norman, Ryan Norman, Ella McClain, Sadie McClain and Jackson Summers; a sister, Ruthann Rose and her husband, Robert of Clearfield; and a special niece, Andrea Roberson and her husband, Andy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert F. Summers, to whom she was married April 24, 1971 and whom died April 6, 1987; and her second husband, George T. “Bud” Gallaher, to whom she was married June 21, 1997 and whom died Nov. 19, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Zion Baptist Church, 12004 Tyrone Pike, Irvona, with Pastor Richard Engle and Pastor Daniel Osterhout officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery, Marron.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Sunday at the Bennett & Houser Funeral Home Inc., Clearfield, and from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
