CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County officials are awaiting the return of needs assessment surveys that were sent out in March. More than 1,000 surveys were mailed out to random consumers across the county.

According to Lisa Kovalick, community development specialist, “We’re excited to see the surveys coming in, but we still need more. We value the input of our residents.”

Kovalick stressed the importance, saying, “This survey helps us to identify where the greatest needs are, as well as to address gaps in Human Services Programs. Input in this survey can justify changes that are needed in Clearfield County Human Services.”

Currently, only 247 surveys have been returned, she said.

The random survey, she said, is being conducted anonymously to help identify local needs and then support the implementation of services that meet those needs. She said it has been approximately 15 years since the last human services survey was done.

According to Kovalick, the county uses these surveys to create a Human Services Plan that is required by the state annually.  The plan is used to inform the commonwealth and the community how Human Services funding is being used to serve eligible residents of Clearfield County.

Kovalick said that the plan describes what services are provided in the areas of mental health, intellectual disabilities, adult services, homeless assistance, children and youth, juvenile justice and drug and alcohol services.

If you have received a survey, the Kovalick asks that you complete the questionnaire to the best of your ability and return it in the stamped self-addressed envelope provided.

The deadline to mail in your survey is May 30. If you have not received a survey but would like to, or if you have questions and need additional information, you may contact the County Human Services Coordinator at 814-765-5149.
