Betty Lou Weber Keiser, 91, of Grampian died Monday, April 27, 2015 at the UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born Dec. 21, 1923 in Bloom Township, a daughter of the late Merle Leon and Dessie Viola (Leach) Weber.

Mrs. Keiser graduated with honors from the Curwensville High School in 1941. Later attending the Bryn Mawr School of Nursing, she received her diploma and became a registered nurse.

Mrs. Keiser then joined the Navy Nurse Corps as Ensign in June of 1945. She was stationed in Memphis, Tenn., as a registered nurse. She received her Bachelor’s degree in nursing education in 1950.

She had worked as a nurse in the Clearfield School System for several years and retired in 1982 after working on the DuBois Mental Health Unit for 10 years.

Mrs. Keiser was a member of the Hepburnia United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for many years.

She enjoyed taking photographs and listening to country music. All of her life, she had been very educationally-oriented and eager to learn new things throughout her life.

Even in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s, Mrs. Keiser continued to take educational courses at the Penn State DuBois campus.

She is survived by her two children, Jill Deluccia and her husband, Tim of Grampian and Jeffrey Keiser of Grampian and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence ‘Pat’ A. Keiser, on July 25, 1992 and to whom she was wed July 27, 1955.

She was also preceded in death by two children, Lory Stone and Stephen Keiser; two sisters, Genevieve Solley and June Weber; and three brothers, Doyle, Donald and Merle Weber.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Curwensville, with Pastor Ron Emery officiating. Burial will be in the Crown Crest Memorial Park, Hyde.

Friends will be received from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 275 21st St., Clearfield.
