U.S. Aircraft Carriers Fast Facts

All of the active air carriers are in the Nimitz class and are the largest warships in the world. (U.S. Navy)

They are designed to last for about 50 years with one mid-life refueling.

Between 3,000 and 5,200 is the manning for a carrier, which includes the ship’s company, air wing, and other personnel.
