Shoening Accused of Threatening Another with a Gun

DUBOIS – A DuBois man is accused of threatening another man with a weapon.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed with District Judge Patrick Ford’s office March 17, Jason A. Shoening, 31, 312 W. Long Ave., DuBois, is charged by the DuBois City police with terroristic threats and harassment following an incident March 12.

According to the affidavit, police were called to 333 S. Brady St., DuBois, for a man who had allegedly been threatening another individual with a gun.

An officer spoke to the victim who said a man came into the victim’s home wearing a mask. Even with the disguise, the victim said he knew the person as “Jason” but could not remember the last name.

The victim said the name began with an “S.” The victim said he called a friend who also knew “Jason” and the victim said his friend told him the perpetrator’s last name was “Shoening.”

The victim told police that Shoening allegedly threatened to kill the victim and burn down his house. The victim said Shoening was threatening him because the victim had called Shoening’s mother and had mentioned the call during the incident.

The victim also told police that while Shoening was threatening him, there was a gun near Shoening’s waist. The victim told police Shoening pulled the gun up but did not completely remove it from his waist area. The victim described the gun as possibly a 45 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

The victim said while Shoening had his hand on the gun, he allegedly threatened the victim again, saying if the victim called the police, Shoening would kill him or have one of his biker friends from Sykesville come and kill him.

After the incident, the victim told police Shoening walked over to a car in the alley and left.
