CLEARFIELD – CNB Bank will continue to celebrate its 150th anniversary with its community by hosting a country concert, announced Joseph B. Bower Jr., the bank’s president and chief executive officer, at a press conference Monday.
The concert will feature country artist Frankie Ballard at 8 p.m. June 13 at the grandstand stage at the Clearfield County Fairgrounds. All proceeds will benefit Clearfield Volunteer Fire Departments in Clearfield Borough, Lawrence Township, Glen Richey and Hyde, said Bower.
Ballard, a county music singer, songwriter and guitarist, has charted three singles on the Hot Country Songs charts. His third single, “Helluva Life,” is the lead to his second album, “Sunshine & Whiskey.” It became his first No. 1 single in early 2014. Later in the year, Ballard’s title track, “Young & Crazy,” hit No. 1.
A local opening act will be announced at a later date, said Bower. Gates will open at 6 p.m. General admission tickets are $10 and will go on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Tickets will be available online at www.ClearfieldCountyFair.com only.
“We welcome the community to enjoy this concert and celebrate this important milestone with us,” said Bower. “It will be a night to remember while benefiting local organizations that each of us counts on.”
According to Bower, there will be some concessions at the concert; beer sales will also be available on the track. Bower said the CNB Bank country concert will operate under the same procedures as those during the Clearfield County Fair.
As part of the year-long 150th anniversary, CNB Bank branches are hosting individual celebrations for their communities. Promotional items featuring a special anniversary logo design are being distributed all year. CNB Bank is also offering product specials throughout the year to highlight the anniversary.
The County National Bank of Clearfield was founded Feb. 5, 1865 by a group of Clearfield citizens. County National Bank was reorganized in February of 1934 by virtue of a stock offering to existing depositors and renamed The County National Bank at Clearfield.
To simplify growth into additional market areas, the name was changed to County National Bank in 1965. CNB Bank has shown impressive growth over the past 150 years. Fifty years ago, there were about 70 employees and by 1990 that had grown to 124 employees.
Today CNB Bank employs 250 people working at 22 branches in eight counties throughout the state. CNB Bank’s headquarters remain in downtown Clearfield, which in 2014 was extensively renovated and expanded to more adequately house its growing operations center.
