REYNOLDSVILLE – Jeff Tech has announced its April Student of the Month, Melanie Keth.  She is a senior in the CTE cosmetology program at Jeff Tech.

She lives with her parents, David and Janie Keth, along with her sister Tessa, in Brookville.  She has been on the B honor roll at Jeff Tech for the two nine-week marking periods during the 2014-15 school year.

She is a member of Career and Technical Student Organization at Jeff Tech.  She is also a member of the Starfish team, which is the anti-bullying organization at the school.  She serves on Jeff Tech’s dance committee and is president of the Cosmetology shop.

Keth has been placed on prom court for the April 27 Jeff Tech prom.  She participated as a model in aesthetics at the Skills USA competition held in Hershey.

A Skills USA competition is for young men and women enrolled in a full-time secondary or postsecondary vocational-technical school.  The competition is based on skills obtained in CTE programs as well as other skills that relate to career goals and interests.

Upon graduation Keth will begin her employment with Laurel Brook in Brookville.  She also plans to return to Jeff Tech as an adult student in the licensed practical nurse program.

In her spare time, Keth participates in quilting club at Soldier Community Church in Soldier.  She loves reading and writing and loves children.   She also babysits for a friend of the family.
