Ecommerce Workshop Slated for May at Penn State DuBois

DUBOIS – Anyone who is considering selling products or services online could benefit from an upcoming workshop at Penn State DuBois.

Getting Ready for Ecommerce is planned for 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. on May 13, in Room 209 of the DEF Building on campus.  A fee of $249 the workshop, all materials, handouts and lunch.

The workshop is intended to educate participants on planning and strategy of online sales, ecommerce business models, Web sites, payment options, merchandising concepts and tools to optimize success in online business.

Getting Ready for Ecommerce is instructed by Cathy von Birgelen, the executive director of the eMarketing Learning Center (eMLC), an initiative of the Ben Franklin Technology Partnership.

The eMLC develops professional development programs centered on using and applying digital media marketing and technologies targeted to businesses and nonprofits.

von Birgelen’s expertise spans more than 25 years of demonstrated business experience in all functions including planning, analysis, marketing and finance. Her focus in online business development and e-marketing efforts comes from more than 25 years of hands-on marketing for both large enterprises and start-up companies.

She has consulted with many national and regional clients including: GE, Choice Hotels, Tide.com, Seaway Manufacturing, Howard Industries, Troyer Farms and Gannon University, Blair.com, Relish.com, Penn State University and Knowledge Park at Penn State Erie.
